Ingredients

For the Cookies:

  • 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp dried culinary lavender buds (finely chopped)
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 oz (115g) soft goat cheese
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional Glaze:

  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp dried lavender (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and chopped lavender. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, goat cheese, and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. If using the glaze, whisk powdered sugar and milk together until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies and sprinkle with a touch of lavender for garnish.

Serving Suggestion: Pair these cookies with a cup of Earl Grey or chamomile tea for a truly aromatic experience.
